Here are my absolute best purchases of 2024:

- A good pair of sports shoes

- The book Slow Productivity, by Cal Newport

- My gym membership

- My climbing gym membership

- My desk setup (ergonomic mouse and keyboard plus a good screen)

- 2-day trip to Copenhagen

- 5-day trip to Rome with a city pass to see all the cool stuff

- 14-day trip to Havana to see my family and friends

They are all investments in quality of life.

Thanks Mandy, this type of post is very touching.

Absolutely amazing. I am really trying to avoid the consumerism trap as much as possible. I only buy things that make my life better for at least a year.

I love this policy. My policy is: if it's not on discount, or if it's double the price, would I still want it?

very true, its always temporary pleasure. I actually get more satisfaction from throwing things away lol.

Investing in learning and development is so important, my friends often wonder why I spend thousands on it, but I wish I could spend even more

Curious what have you spent thousands on?

Online courses have been the most expensive:

- Starting an online business

- Developing focus and digital minimalism

- Productivity

- Learning methods

- SQL performance (didn't finish this one)

I spend hundreds on books but not all are educational

I spent a few hundred joining an online community for side hustles as well

That's all I can remember right now

solid! how's the side hustle community? Worth it?

I haven't been as active lately, found myself scrolling the chats too much, but I did meet some great people and it had some content included in the price too, which was really valuable
